Life Groups are a key ministry at Lifeline Church. They are the most natural places for authentic discipleship to occur. Those who wish to serve in these ministries are accepting the responsibilities of serving the people of our Lifeline community.
Not only do those who join this ministry team serve the practical position of facilitating a weekly dicussion, they share in the responsibilities of gathering and ministering to those whom join their group. Life Group leaders partner with our pastors and staff to provide holistic pastoral care to our congregation.
Before you agree to become a Life Group Leader or assitant, please consider the role and it's expectations.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 says,
This is a trustworthy saying: “If someone aspires to be a church leader, he desires an honorable position.” 2 So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach. 3 He must not be a heavy drinker or be violent. He must be gentle, not quarrelsome, and not love money. 4 He must manage his own family well, having children who respect and obey him. 5 For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?
Below you will find the promises that we ask of a Life Group leader.
As a leader...
I promise to posture myself with an attitude of surrender toward the Lord – to elevate the Lord's voice and purpose for my life – to prioritize a life of personal devotion and to learn the character and values of our God.
I promise to be responsible to the men and women whom God has called me to love and serve by unselfishly choosing for their highest good. I believe the Lord has called me (not because of my abilities, but because of his grace) to reach out and disciple others.
I promise to faithfully, and with a positive attitude, participate in Lifeline services, and church activities, as to set an example to those whom I lead and partner with. I will intentionally stay connected with and contribute to the vision of Lifeline so that others will be united with us in our vision and purpose, and so the next generation of leaders will take my place.
If you feel you can align yourself with these standards of leadership, we ask you to complete this application for Life Group leadership.
